Serial Killers
Chuck Klosterman talked about that people, who meet serial killers do not overreact, nor do people freak out about this. Chuck says in his discussions about serial killers, is that we glorify, and promote serial killers in the media. Chucks talks about in the literature, is that his friends knows serial killers. Chuck mentions in the article is that when a serial killer criminal dies, they suddenly become famous for no apparent reason. I would agree with Chuck's ideas about the topic of serial killers. If I would see or meet a serial killer, my first reaction would be to have an anxiety attack. Or, run as fast I can if I meet a serial killer. Plus, when I research about serial killers, it does not fascinate me, this topic scares me.

Accidental Racist Song
In class we mentioned the "Accidental Racist" song by Brad Prasiley featuring L.L. Cool J. The big deal was the LL Cool J verse in the song. I thought people given Brad Prasiley the benefit of the doubt. However, people were confused, and did not understand LL Cool J verses in the song. I think people thought LL Cool J rap was inappropriate, and did not fit the song. I also think that people thought his rap was very cliché, and very confusing meaning in the song. Plus, my reaction was people are really freaking over LL Cool J verse. I thought this song was very good. Sometimes people who listens to a song sometimes jump to conclusions. Or try to assume a meaning of a song, without even taking the time; to figure out the message of the song.

Intertextuality in Pop Culture
According to your notes from class lecture the word intertextual means "The complex interrelationship between a text [book, movie, artifact, and idea] and other texts. Taken as a basis."
Here is a first example of intertextuality
1.
The reason this an example of intertextuality is because it is combing Nintendo characters such as Mario, and Donkey Kong with Monopoly board game.
Here is an another example of intertextuality

Coolness
The articles that we read was Chuck Klosterman's article on coolness called, " The Lady or the Tiger." Another article we read was Alissa Quart was the discussion about coolness on the TV show "Frontline" The articles about coolness are different, however both Chuck and Alissa have the same topic to talk about being cool, and coolness. Here are some reasons why the articles are different.
For starters, Chuck talks about food as being cool. He mentions ads on TV about different types of cereal that are not really meant for children. Compared to Allissa Quart she does not mentions cereal to be cool and to fit in. She mentions the Internet, and websites, about being cool compared to Klosterman. Chuck does not mention the Internet or websites to be cool.
Chuck has a lot of theories about coolness. Here are a list of his theories about trending, or being cool in society. "Calculated Adult Coolness", "Stream teen coolness", and
"aging hipster default coolness." Chuck defines the "calculated adult coolness" as this, "I'm referring to the kind of coolness that generally applies to people between the ages of nineteen and thirty-six." Chuck also says that "Mainstream teen coolness" and "aging hipster default coolness" has a different definition. "Both of which reflect an opposing (and sort of pathetic) consumer aesthetic." Where as Quart does not mentions these theories about coolness, and has no definition about the theories of being cool. In both of the article both Chuck Klosterman and Allysia Quart do mentions the word "aesthetic" in the literature about coolness.

Violence
The first article about violence is "APA Congressional Testimony on Media Violence and Children" and the movie we watched the Mean World Syndrome. Here are some reasons why these two types of media are the same. In the article is has statistics and numbers about violence. APA article and the movie mentions the word "desensitize" or the word desensitization for their points of views on violence in the media.
The APA testimony and the Mean World Syndrome are different is that, the APA testimony does not mentions stereotypes in TV. The APA article does not mentions race and violence. Unlike the Mean World Syndrome movie it shows racial violence and stereotypes portals in the media. The APA article has a congressional hearing on violence, while the movie does not have a congressional hearing about violence. Mean World Syndrome were doing scientific experiment called "Channel surfing" to find any violence on TV. Whereas the APA did not do any experiments about violence on TV.

Football the Intimidation Culture
In the video we watched called Football High. In the video, the coach mentions that they do not cancel football practice, in case of high heat, in the summer Because of wining. The video also talks about if a high school loses so many games in the football season, then a football coach gets fired. Like a professional or, a college football coach, getting fired for losing so many games. I think that we should not take wining so seriously. In a game you win some, and lose some in a game. I have heard people say to other people, because their favorite team lost. A person flocks to a winning team just for winning. That is called a bandwagon fan. I think that people who watch sports, or even play sports, have a fear of losing.
Plus, we televised college football, professional (pro) football, and now high school football. Football High video said that high school football was never televised on national TV, compared to modern football. In my opinion I think we are being too hard to high school football players. For example a person in high school, chooses a college, and it is on television. This can cause extreme stress for the athlete.
Football High mentions that their tight end, and other positions are overweight. This is socially acceptable, and normal in football today. One of the coaches says the overweight football players was socially unacceptable, and taboo. That is one of the intimidation culture, big football players.

Pornography
Pornography (porn) is everywhere in the media realm. Porn is available on the media formats: online, cell phones, tablets, and iPads; magazines; and literature. We talked about in class, that people are very OCD about kids viewing porn.Whereas, we are not concerned about adults viewing porn Porn can be an educational device for learning how to be sexual. In class, we said that porn was frowned upon in society as a whole. Many prefer porn to be kept a secret and not be exposed to the general public. Because if people see he or she looking at porn, that makes them corrupted in the mind, sickening, and perverted. In class, we talked about new media and forms of creative ways to view porn. Porn can be a mental addiction. Also, there can be pron withdrawal, with the addiction. Is viewing porn when you are married classified as "cheating" for a married couple? I did research online about this questions, it was fitly-fifty. Some websites explained it was complete normal, to look at porn. Whereas, some website have said, viewing porn when are you are a married, was a a big no no. I ask my parents if watching porn was considered cheating, both my mom and dad said, "It was not considered cheating, and promotes a healthy sex life." They also said, "It is just like looking at a movie."

An Inappropriate ad
This ad was for the Sega Saturn video game console. This video game console was made by Sega. The Some video game websites, have labeled this ad for being "sexist". I typed in Sega Saturn inappropriate ads in, Google image search, and this was the first image that came up. Jean Kilborne might say this ad promotes pornography in the video game industry. This ad for the Sega Saturn can be risque depending on your interpretation of the video game ad. Sega had very perverted and inappropriate advertisements in the 90s. Sega was very perverted in marketing the following, game consoles: Sega Game Gear, CD, 32x, Saturn, Genesis; and the Sega Dreamcast. Also, this gives male gamers a false sense, that console can be depicted as a women, would want to have sex with a video game console. A female "girl" gamer would get offended at this advertisements for the Sega Saturn. Sometimes video game ads can sound and even look wrong.

Modern Sex Symbol
For the modern sex symbol I choose is Jennifer Lawrence that represents this generation. She is best remembered for her role in movie The Hunger Games. The reason she is a sex symbol is because of hair color, hair style, her eyes, and among others. According to her official website she gets a lot of letters from her fans.

The Internet
There is a lot of ways the internet is making me smart. For example I watch YouTube videos to improve my knowledge about databases. I go online to research the latest database version. I also research the different types of database SQL types such as NoSQL, NEWSQL, Relational database management system. I also look at the different types of computer problem such as memory not recognize in the BIOS (Basic Input Output System.) and Windows. The reason I look at different types of databases and styles of databases SQL is to become a database administrator. I also go online and research video game titles. I also go online to look at different video game systems and handhelds.
The hard part of learning my intelligence is go to Tumblr, Facebook, or Twitter. I also tend to get distracted because of Facebook, and other social media websites. The internet tends to make me go to online for a long time.

Millennial Generation
The good trait of the Millennial generation (Generation Y) I choose is technology. The not so good trait of generation Y is the overabundance of information on the Internet. Generation Y people usually buy the following technology items: tablets, desktop, laptops, CD players, and video games just to name a few.
On Saturday when I went to Davenport to go shopping. I went to the iWireless phone store and brought a Samsung S4. Then I went to a video game store and brought the Reton 3. This video game console is nice and awesome. The Retron 3 has three slots. It has a NES (Nintendo) slot, SNES (Super Nintendo), and a Sega Genesis slot. While I was at the video game store I bought Perfect Dark for my Nintendo 64, and Killer Instinct for my SNES. I was so happy and excited. When I got home, I open my retron 3 box . When I open my Retron 3, I was so happy, it was like I open a Christmas present on Christmas Day. I also played Killer Instinct briefly. When I was playing Perfect Dark for the first time, I was thinking this game look like GoldenEye. In a way it is a GoldenEye mod. I had so much fun and I was happy with the things I bought with my money. Perfect Dark is right up there with GoldenEye.
The terrible part of Generation Y is the too much information (TMI) on the Internet. People tend to put so much information on the Internet. Which can lead to consequences on the Internet, such as on line stalking, or impersonating somebody on line. The Internet can be a learning tool, or a virtual community. Also, the Internet can be your worst enemy if you give out so much information online.

Happiness
What is happiness? According to Merriam Websters Dictionary, the word Happiness means the following: "the state of being happy." An anther definition of happiness says in Websters Dictionary, "An Experience that makes you happy."
The first article that talks about happiness is the Futile of Happiness. In the first acttyile here is a quotre about happiness. "We might beleive that a new BMW will life perfect. But it will almost certainty be less exciting than we predicted." When people see something on tv, or in newspapers advertisments we are so pumped up to buy something, such as a new laptop or a new video game. When a person buys and plays around with the item, for a while. He or she might get bored and want a different item. That made them happy temporary, but not long lasting.
The second article that talks about happiness is the Billy Sim. In the Sims the character is happy temporyary, like in real life. Some people are never happy at anyting such as money. People can pretend that they are happy, but they are not happy.
